Peabody's Pizza Places Come Together For The Haven

Pizza Fest will benefit the Haven From Hunger.

Several Peabody pizza establishments are teaming up to raise money for local food pantry Haven From Hunger. On Sunday, August 20, nine of Peabody's finest pizza-makers will participate in the city's first Pizza Fest. From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. attendees will have the opportunity to sample slices of pizza from each restaurant and vote on "Peabody's Best Pizza".

The event will take place on Railroad Avenue, which will be closed to traffic. Admission is $5 per person and the proceeds will benefit Haven From Hunger on Wallis Street.

The pizza places participating are: Mr. G's, Giovanni's House of Pizza, Plum Tomatoes, Gallo Nero, Reach For The Pie, Lena's, Greg's, Kelley Square Pub, and Pete's-A-Place.

Following Pizza Fest, the entertainment continues with the latest installment of the 25th Summer Concert Series presented by Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. and the City of Peabody. This week country is coming to Peabody as the popular country-rock band The Herland Brothers perform next door at Leather City Common from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
