Peabody's Ward-By-Ward Fourth Of July Celebrations Set For 2022
Peabody City Councilors will continue the tradition of having unique Independence Day events in each ward this weekend.
PEABODY, MA —Peabody residents won't have to go very far to find a Fourth of July celebration this weekend with the city continuing the tradition of holding parties, parades and other fun, family activities in each ward.
The Ward 1 event will take place on July 4 in Raddin Park from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. beginning with a parade at 9:45 on the corner of Blair Terrace and Lynnfield Street. Starting at 10, there will be hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks and ice cream from Treadwell's in the park.
Contests will include "Most Patriotic Parade Participant," a soccer skills challenge, a Potato Sack Race, a Hula Hoop contest, a basketball free throw contest, a pie-eating contest and a 50-yard dash. There will be prizes for winners and limited-edition "We're No. 1" shirts for everyone.

The Ward 2 event will be held rain or shine (inside if it rains) on July 4 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Welch School next to O'Connor Park. There will be a singing of the national anthem and patriot parade at 9:15 where participants are invited to bring decorated bikes, tricycles, scooters, wagons and carriages.
After the parade there will be field games, ponyrides, a balloon artist, face painting, arts and a photo booth. Kids will be able to explore a fire truck, see a police cruiser with access to the playground, misting tent and music until noon. There will be a free raffle with prizes. Pizza, soft drinks, refreshments, cookies and ice cream will be served at 11:15 a.m.

The Ward 3 event will run at Connolly Park on July 4 starting with a patriotic children's parade at 9:30 a.m. Decorated bikes, strollers, scooters and wagons are welcomed.
There will then be races, games and crafts leading up to the traditional egg toss shortly before noon. Hot dogs, cotton candy, ice cream and more will be available.
The Ward 4 event begins at Emerson Park at 9:30 a.m. on July 4 where they Pledge of Allegiance and national anthem are followed by a patriotic children's parade.
The will also be a 1-mile fun run, a DJ, races and games, arts and crafts, face painting, bounce house, egg toss, hot dogs, hamburgers, Teadwell's Ice Cream and other surprises.
The Ward 5 event begins at 9 a.m. at Lt. Ross Park on July 4 with a patriotic bicycle, tricycle and carriage parade starting at the Kiley Brothers Memorial School. Following the parade, there will be races, games and a egg toss.
Pizza and Big Pig barbecue will be served at 11 a.m. along with beverages, raffles and gifts for all the kids at the party.
The Ward 6 event will be a picnic at Symphony Park on July 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. Patriot parade registration begins at 8:30. There will then be music, field games, basketball free throw contest, and coins in the hay. There will be a moon bounce and bags boards in the park.
Hot dogs, burgers, potato chips, drinks and Treadwell's ice cream will be served at 11:30 a.m. followed by the traditional egg toss.
