Perez, 18, to be Remembered by Family, Friends This Saturday
Joncarlos Perez, 18, of Peabody and a recent graduate of PVMHS, died last Saturday in a car accident in the Dominican Republic. A memorial service is being held June 18 at Calvary Christian Church in Lynnfield at 3 p.m.

Joncarlos Perez, 18, of Peabody, while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. He was the beloved son of Joanna Peña of Peabody and Julio C. Perez of Miami, Fla. and was the grandson of Julia Peña and the late Felipe Peña of Lynn.
Born in Salem, Joncarlos was a recent graduate of where he was an accomplished athlete and a member of the school’s wrestling team. He attended Lynn schools prior to entering PVMHS as a freshman.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Alexis Rosario and Ashley Veras of Peabody, and Edgar, Priscila, Debora and Joshua Perez of Miami, Fla. He leaves behind numerous aunts and uncles: Jorge Luis and Silvia Peña, Carmen Peña, Jose and Ana Peña and Daniel Peña, as well as beloved cousins: Allyson Wallace, Andrew Wallace, David Peña, Jonathan Peña, Gabriela and Micaela Peña, Delilah CostaRita, Sonia CostaRita Yung, Thalia CostaRita Aguiar and Marco CostaRita as well as extended family members in New York, Florida and the Dominican Republic.
Joncarlos was an avid student of mixed-martial arts at in Salem and leaves behind an incredible group of devoted friends.

A memorial service in his honor is scheduled for Saturday, June 18 at 3 p.m. at , 47 Grove St. in Lynnfield. A student-led candlelight vigil has also been planned on the football field on Thursday, June 23 from 8-10 p.m.
