PHOTOS: A Snowshoe Classic for Sweethearts

Thanks to the blizzard, the 2nd Annual Snowshoe "Sweethearts" Classic put on by the Peabody Recreation Department this past weekend at Brooksby Farm had plenty of snow for a good 5K snowshoe race.

All told, 64 snowshoers turned out Sunday morning at the farm for the Valentine's Day themed event.

The winner for the day on the men's side was James Pawlicki, 38, of Lynn in a time of 31:35. The first female across the finish line was Theresa Ridgway, 43, of Newburyport in 40:42 (13th overall).

The first Peabodyite to finish was George Trainor -- he's 71 and turned in a respectable 46:47 for 21st overall.
