Pipeline Intervention Application Filed by Representative Ted Speliotis

Speliotis is the first State Representative to file for intervener status.

PEABODY, MA - State Representative Ted Speliotis (D-Danvers) formally filed an application for intervener status on the proposed Kinder-Morgan interstate natural gas pipeline.

“After meeting with dozens of West Peabody residents, discussing the project with local officials, attending activist meetings held across the state and offering testimony opposed to the project to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Dracut last August I feel strongly that I can best represent the concerns of my district,” said Speliotis.

“As a State Representative for Danvers, Peabody and Middleton, all of which are on the proposed path of the Peabody lateral pipeline, I represent homeowners who are immediate abutters to the proposed pipeline as well as several thousand homeowners who have over the years expressed a strong interest in having access to gas provided to their homes. My communities also draw their drinking water from the already stressed Ipswich River which the pipeline is planned to impact and run alongside.” wrote Representative Speliotis in his application to FERC.
