Pizza Fest Returns To Peabody On August 19

Pizza Fest will feature Peabody's finest pizza makers, who will be donating both their product and time to benefit the local theatre.

From The City of Peaboy: Sunday, August 19th is shaping up to be an exciting evening for the City of Peabody. In collaboration with Peabody Main Streets, the city is hosting Pizza Fest 2018 on Railroad Avenue beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Pizza Fest will feature Peabody’s finest pizza makers, who will be donating both their product and time to benefit the outfitting of the Northeast Arc’s Black Box Theater on Foster Street. Admission to the event is $10.00 per person. Children under 5 years of age will be admitted for free. Attendees will be able to sample slices from each establishment.

Participating pizza places so far include: Mr. G’s Pizza & Subs, Ramzi’s Roast Beef, Kelley Square Pub, Gallo Nero Ristorante, Reach for the Pie, Tasty Foods, Bertucci’s Brick Oven and Plum Tomatoes. Those of age will be able to enjoy craft beer by Ipswich Ale Brewery, who will have their beer truck on site.

During the event, music and entertainment will be provided by DJ Kevin Angelli. Peabody’s Black Box Theater, which will be operated by Northeast Arc, is located within ArcWorks Community Art Center (formerly the U.S. Post Office) at 22 Foster Street. The theater is designed to benefit the entire community. The space will provide educational and recreational opportunities for as many as 7,800 youth annually. The addition of performing arts to the Art Center is set to complement existing visual arts activities.

Following Pizza Fest, the Summer Concert Series presented by Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. continues next door at Leather City Common as country music comes to Peabody. The Herland Brothers, an acclaimed country-rock band, will perform from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Concert-goers are welcome to sprawl out on thecommon with their lawn chairs and blankets as they enjoy this local country favorite.
