Police Arrest Three For Driving With Suspended Licenses

The following information was supplied by the Peabody Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from reports in the  press log from Aug. 31-Sept. 1.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

  • At 2:14 p.m., an Abington Avenue resident reported that her 1-year-old black female cat is missing. The cat, Nikki, has a shaved patch on her back. 
  • At 3:12 p.m., police received a call from Newbury Street about a car with its door open. It had been open for a few hours. Police found the owner of the car had brought in groceries and forgot to close her car door.
  • At 3:35 p.m., police arrested Julio A. Robles, 47, 49 Biblical St., Apt. 1, Lynn, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended and failure to signal. Police made the arrest on Lynn Street. 
  • At 3:46 p.m., police arrested Manuel E. Brazil, 33, 37 Bowditch St., Apt. 1, Peabody, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended and on three warrants for larceny more than $250, larceny from a person, assault and battery, receiving a stolen credit card, credit card fraud less than $250, credit card fraud more than $250, forgery of a document and identify fraud. Police made the arrest on Endicott Street and released him into the custody of Salem Police for the warrants.
  • At 4:17 p.m., a Tanners Court resident reported someone stole prescription medication.
  • At 4:54 p.m., police summonsed a 33-year-old Peabody man for trespassing after a call to Veterans Memorial Drive.
  • At 5:35 p.m., police received a call about graffiti on a Cross Street building. Police documented the damage and forwarded it to the graffiti officer. 
  • At 5:59 p.m., a Central Street resident reported an unauthorized charge of $6,000 on a credit card. 
  • At 6:51 p.m., an Emmet Street resident reported a burglary. Nothing was reportedly taken. 
  • At 8:58 p.m. a Newbury Street resident reported medication was stolen from her house. 

Thursday, Sept. 1

  • At 1:04 a.m., a Main Street resident reported people were trying to get into his apartment. The people fled on foot toward the library. Police searched the area, but did not find the suspects. There were no signs of forced entry. 
  • At 8:26 a.m., police responded to Elm Street after a report of several hypodermic needs on the street. Police destroyed the needles.
  • At 10:58 a.m., police arrested Jeffrey S. Hiltz, 31, 6 Abbot St., Danvers, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle after his license was suspended and a warrant for larceny more than $250, destruction of property more than $250 and trespassing. Police made the arrest on Pound Lane. 
  • At 12:59 p.m., police summonsed a 39-year-old man for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop on King Street.
