Police Investigate Armed Robbery

A masked man brandishing a large knife robbed Town Variety, 116 Central St., on Monday on Monday night, according to police.

The suspect entered the store with the knife, and and demanded cash, The blade on the knife was approximately one-foot long, according to authorities. The man fled on foot, crossed Central Street and headed towards Pulaski Street.

Police searched the area for the individual, but the search proved unsuccessful. It is unknown if a vehicle was used for a getaway.

Evidence was collected from the Pulaski Street area and is currently being processed, according to police officials.

The suspect was wearing a blue/grey full-zip jacket, a black stocking hat with a pompom on top, and what appeared to be a black ski mask covering the face. He was wearing grey gloves with a light colored stripe across the knuckle area.
