Police Log: Police Investigate Vandal Shooting Out Car Windows

Excerpts from the Peabody Police Department log.

Wednesday, Aug. 13

At 2:11 p.m., a Hourihan Street resident reported a lost or stolen ATM card that has been used for more than $14,000. Police are investigating.

At 4:04 p.m., police arrested Anthony S. Fessenden, 19, 7 Cherry St., Apt. 1, Salem, and charged him on a warrant for two counts of assault and battery, and one count each for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, attempted murder and intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official. Police made the arrest after the Salem man turned himself in.

At 4:31 p.m., police arrested a 17-year-old and charged him with shoplifting by concealing merchandise and disorderly conduct. Police made the arrest after a reported shoplifting at Spencer Gifts.

At 4:47 p.m., police responded to a three-car accident on Lowell Street. There were no injuries. One vehicle was towed.

At 5:17 p.m., police responded to Center Street about a possible drunk driver, but the person left the area before police arrived.

At 6:48 p.m, a Burnham Road resident reported a possible attempted break-in. Someone opened a slider, but did not gain entrance or take anything.

At 11:13 p.m., police responded to the Peabody Library about a possible break-in. An alarm activated and there was an open window. Officers walked through the library and didn’t find anyone. Police took a report.

At 11:22 p.m., a Willowbrae Drive resident reported hearing two gunshots and then finding that someone shot out her car’s back window. There was a similar call about a car window being shot out on Lindauer Street. Police are investigating.

At 11:32 p.m. police summonsed a 17-year-old and charged him with malicious destruction of property more than $250. Police summonsed the teen after a window was smashed on Foster Street.

Thursday, Aug. 14

At 6:42 a.m., a Pinecrest Avenue resident reported a car window was smashed. Police found the damage was similar to the car vandalism from the previous night.
