Peabody Police Seize 670 Grams of Heroin
Luis Espinal of Roslindale is being held on $1million bail.

A Roslindale is being held on $1 million bail on heroin trafficking charges following an arrest in Peabody on Friday afternoon.
Luis J. Espinal, 26, of Roslindale was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Mason Street around 1 p.m. on Friday. The arrest was a result of a joint investigation including the Peabody Police narcotics unit and the DEA.
Police seized 670 grams of heroin valued at $70,000.

Espinal was charged with trafficking over 100 grams of heroin. He is being held on $1 million bail at the Essex County House of Corrections.
“This type of investigation is a direct reflection of the opioid epidemic that has riddled communities throughout the North Shore, the state of Massachusetts and beyond; this is not a problem specific to Peabody,” said Peabody Police Chief Thomas Griffin.
