Police: Someone Removed a Three-Foot High Display Case Containing Approximately $7200 Worth of Jewelry; Rollover Accident; Suspicious Package

Friday, May 8

At 2:32 p.m., area check of bike path area Tenney Park-Crystal Lake, Independence Greenway Trail. Female reporting party stated she was working the bike path and came across children’s shoes, shorts and a roll of tape. Officer could not locate any children’s clothing. Officer did locate a pair of adult sneakers; disposed of.

At 2:40 p.m., animal complaint on Pinecrest Avenue. Calling party left voicemail complaining that the two small dogs bark excessively. Notice of complaint mailed.

At 3:13 p.m., lost cat on Lexington Avenue. Caller reported her male, 1-yr-old, neutered, orange/white tabby, indoor cat was missing. Helios was last seen on May 5 in the area of Lexington Avenue. He is not wearing a collar and is not chipped.

At 5:04 p.m., motor vehicle stop at Logan Express on Newbury Street. Tomas Santos, 33, of Lynn, arrested for operating without a license and unregistered motor vehicle.

At 5:07 p.m., larceny at Kay Jewelers on Andover Street. Mall security reports a past larceny at Kay Jewelers. An unknown person removed a three-foot high display case containing approximately $7200 worth of merchandise.sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Saturday, May 9

At 7:10 a.m., motor vehicle stop at Summit Plaza on Summit Street. Everildo Mendez, 21, of Lynn, was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was released to a licensed operator. Finger prints came back and it was determined that the driver’s true name is Leonel Eberendo Mendez-Lopez. Subsequently, he was also charged with furnishing a false name.

At 9:17 a.m., suspicious activity at Tannery Apartments on Crowninshield Street. Resident reported that water was coming through her apartment from the apartment upstairs. Officer made contact with the resident upstairs, and stated the toilet was running all night causing water damage. Resident was advised to contact maintenance.

At 11:16 a.m., assist other department in the vicinity of Route 95 south, exit 45 in Danvers. Received a report of a rollover accident. Two people transported to area hospitals with head injuries. State Police investigated.

At 11:33 a.m., traffic complaint on Andover Street. Caller reported that the vehicle in front of her is weaving on the roadway and is smoking from a marijuana pipe. The officer stated that there was no problem with the operation of the motor vehicle, and that the driver was smoking an electronic cigarette.

At 12:12 p.m., past burglary at Weiss Landscape Co. on Farm Avenue. Owner stated that a shed was broken into between 4 p.m. May 4 and 2:30 p.m. on May 8 The owner will compile a list of the items, and forward the information to the officer.

At 2:37 p.m., suspicious activity at Federal Express on Lakeland Park Drive. The manager would like to speak with an officer about a suspicious package. Manchester K-9 in route assisted. Officer transported the package to the Peabody Police Department.

At 3:24 p.m., suspicious activity on Newbury Street. Reporting party called in regards to a male party in a vehicle approached his son and tried to sell him stereo equipment around 3 p.m.

At 5:15 p.m., road rage incident on Andover Street. Party reported being followed by a person in a white Chevy Tahoe, possibly related to an incident in Tewksbury. Robert A. Coste, 55, of Wilmington, will be summonsed for assault.

Sunday, May 10

At 12:34 a.m., vandalism on Baldwin Street in area of Felton Street. Youths damaging property.

At 2:56 a.m., motor vehicle stop at Turnpike Car Wash on Newbury Street. Massachusetts State Police K9 requested. Raffi Esayan, 32, of Lynnfield, will be summonsed for possession of Class C drugs, possession of heroin, operation of a motor vehicle after revocation, open container of alcohol, and no front license plate.
