Police: Juvenile Swinging a Butcher's Knife in the Air and Stabbing Telephone Poles; Pedestrian Struck by a Car; Vehicle Egged

Monday, May 25

At 2:58 p.m., check vicinity of Spring Pond on Lynn Street. Lynn Police Department responded to a call for a large group of youths and a possible stolen bike on the Lynn side of Spring Pond. The group fled upon officer arrival. Lynn officer believed he heard a gunshot in the area. Officers checked the area and they were not able to locate the youths.

At 3:15 p.m., suspicious activity on Memorial Drive. Caller reported that there is a male swinging a butchers knife in the air and stabbing telephone poles.The officers spoke with the juvenile and his mother about his actions. The officer documented the incident.

At 6:34 p.m., vandalism on Donna Street. Party reported his vehicle was egged overnight while parked on Murray Street.

At 11:40 p.m., motor vehicle stop on Lowell Street. Officers will send summons for revoked plates.

Tuesday, May 26

At 8:07 a.m., passport turned into Peabody Fire Department Engine 7 on Lowell Street. The passport was returned to student.

At 11:10 a.m., pedestrian accident in area of Joe’s American Bar & Grill on Andover Street. Caller reported that a female was struck by a vehicle. Detectives notified. Victim transported to an area hospital.

At 1:25 p.m., motor vehicle stop on Central Street. Driver to be summonsed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
