Police: Upset Man Smashed Out His Car Window After Being Given a Ticket; Students Fighting on School Bus; Guardrail Company Damaged Gas Line

Monday June 1
At 2:07 p.m., break and enter into motor vehicle on Andover Street. Cellphone and other items missing.
At 2:24 p.m., gas odor in area of Acura of Peabody on Andover Street. Guardrail company damaged the gas line. National Grid notified. State Police detail on scene, MSP handled the incident.

At 2:26 p.m., large tree in wires on Nichols Lane. PMLP notified.
At 2:48 p.m., fight in progress on school bus in area of Oakland Street and Proctor Street. Bus company reported students fighting on the school bus.

At 3:06 p.m., shoplifting at Victoria’s Secret. Store staff did not notice that a table of merchandise had been cleared out. Value of merchandise estimated at $783.
At 3:41 p.m., larceny at Diamond Auto Body on Washington Street. Caller reported that sometime after 6 p.m. on Sunday, approximately $1000 of tools were stolen from the business.
At 4:26 p.m., credit card fraud reported on Crane Brook Way.
At 5:43 p.m., suspicious activity in Bowditch Street. Party attempted to gain entry by posing as a census taker. Officer reported that the party was unhappy with the representative of the U.S. Census Bureau.
.At 6:40 p.m., vandalism in the area of the Cheesecake Factory on Andover Street. Mall Security reports possible vandalism to a vehicle near pole 11 in the parking lot. Officer reports the left rear window was broken.
At 6:53 p.m., vandalism in Northshore Mall parking lot on Andover Street. Mall security reported a vehicle with a smashed out window vehicle located by pole 7. Sgt reported the windows were smashed out, and keys in the ignition.Sgt. reported the vehicle’s owner retrieved the vehicle, and stated he caused the damage after being upset at a ticket received earlier in the day in Salem, Mass.
At 10:09 p.m., vandalism on Foster Street. Caller reported her neighbor slashed the tire of another neighbor.
Tuesday, June 2
At 11:51 a,m., motor vehicle stop on Andover Street. Richard Madruga, 62, of Peabody, was arrested for operating motor vehicle with a revoked license, and failure to stop/yield. Vehicle towed.
At 1:39 p.m., unwanted person-guest on Bresnahan Street. Caller reported that there people staying in the house illegally and she would like them removed.The officers spoke with a Lynn woman who stated that she was cleaning the house. She left the house without incident and Peabody Housing changed the locks.
