Police: Vehicle Struck a Telephone Pole Evidenced by the Shape of the Damage to the Front-End and the Wood Splinters in the Grill; Baby Raccoons; $1,000 in Quarters Missing

Sunday, June 7
At 2:24 p.m., child locked in car on Andover Street. Peabody firefighters were able to open the vehicle, and the child was fine.
At 2:54 p.m., received multiple calls about three baby raccoons found on a driveway on Forenza Road. Animal control officer notified.

At 4:26 p.m., parking violation on Margin Terrace. Handicapped parking violation; citation issued. Vehicle may be towed by management.
At 8:06 p.m., hit and run on Pinecrest Avenue. Actually, the operator hit a telephone pole. This would be evidenced by the shape of the damage to the front end and the wood splinters in the grill.

At 9:59 p.m., motor vehicle accident on Buttonwood Lane and Andover Street. Helder P. Costarita, 64, of Peabody, was arrested for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and marked lanes violation.
Monday, June 8
At 3:32 a.m., suspicious activity at KinderCare on Lowell Street. Report of a suspicious looking vehicle in the parking lot, as well as sounds of something smashing. The operator was attempting to change a flat tire in the parking lot of the KinderCare. The noise was due to the spare being mounted under the car.
At 7:55 a.m., report of a pothole on Andover Street. DPW notified.
At 9:47 a.m., report of a break and enter on Hillside Avenue. Resident reported that a person broke-in to her home and stole $1,000 in quarters on Thursday.
At 12:56 p.m., lifting 10-day animal quarantine for a dog on King Street. BoBo, a Shih-tzu, is licensed and vaccinated.
At 1:55 p.m. animal bite on Hathaway Drive. Notification of animal bite involving Marco, a 3-yr-old black/brown, male Staffordshire Terrier. Marco is currently licensed and vaccinated against rabies.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
