Poll Says Peabody Is The 28th Safest City In The U.S.
The security system company Safehome used FBI data to come up with its rankings of the 101 safest cities with populations over 50,000.

PEABODY, MA -- Peabody may be a city, but it has all the safety of a small town, according to a new study that ranked cities with 50,000 or more residents based on safety. Safehome, which makes, sells, and services home security systems, used FBI data to come up with rankings. Peabody, which was ranked 28th with a safety score of 89 out of a possible 100, joined Newton (16th), Plymouth (21st) and Waltham (36th) on the national list.
"Peabody is a quaint town north of Boston," the Safehome report said of Peabody. "With several large employers and a rich history, residents love calling Peabody home. It has a strong infrastructure, with easy transportation to Boston."
Safehome analyzed data from the FBI to statistically find out which cities are the safest in the nation. The FBI data is culled from information provided by 13,366 law enforcement agencies. The company also used the Chapman University Survey of American Fears to highlight the crime rates of what Americans fear most, between violent crime and property crime rates.
