Registration Open For the Firefighter Rice Memorial 5K

The Firefighter Rice Memorial 5K will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at the AOH Club, 58 Lowell St., Peabody.

The Fourth Annual Firefighter Rice Memorial 5K is to honor fallen Peabody Fire Fighter James Rice who tragically lost his life while fighting a house fire in his home town in 2011. All proceeds benefit the Peabody Fire and Police Memorial Fund. This Memorial Fund is to raise money for a memorial park to be built at the corner of Perkins Street and Ellsworth Street in Peabody.

The fee for the race is $25.

Awards: Top overall man and top overall woman, and top three men and women in the following age groups 18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and over 70.

Peabody Firefighters are encouraging firefighters from all communities to come run in this years event; here will be a firefighter division.

Also New this year: Please indicate your First Responders Team Name on the form. If a team signs up 10 or more participants for their team than a brick will be added to the memorial with their department name.
