Route 1 Water Main Work Begins Monday

From The City of Peabody: Work begins Monday, April 15 th on the Route 1 portion of Peabody’s Clean & Sustainable Water Infrastructure program. Work crews will replace smaller water mains with larger ones to improve water quality and distribution to Peabody homes and businesses along the Rt. 1 corridor.

Most of the construction will take place Sunday through Thursday evenings between 9pm and 6am on the Northbound side of Rt 1. and between 8pm and 5am on the Southbound side. The initial work beginning April 16th will be on Rt. 1 North at its intersection with Dearborn Road. At least one lane of traffic will remain open during construction hours.

Police details will accompany work crews and sign boards have been installed to help notify motorists. Revoli Construction Co, Inc. is the city’s contractor for the project and Weston and Sampson will provide engineering oversight.
