Salem Veterans Agent to Assist in Peabody
As Peabody transitions to hire a new Veterans Agent, Salem will be assisting the city with Veterans services.

As Peabody searches to find a new veterans agent, a it's neighbor city is reaching out a helping hand.
Salem’s Veterans Agent Kim Emerling will be assisting the Peabody Veterans Services Department during its transition period, according to a press release from Mayor Edward Bettencourt's office.
“My first priority is to ensure that Peabody veterans experience no interruption in services or benefits during the transition to a new veterans agent,” Mayor Bettencourt said in the press release. “I want to thank Mayor Kimberley Driscoll and Veterans Agent Emerling for their assistance during this transition and for their ongoing support of our veterans and their families."

The Veterans Services Department at Peabody City Hall will continue to take calls and visits during the transition period. Veterans services staff will refer people to the Salem staff if needed on a case-by-case basis, according to the press release.
