Shea Sisters Swim at States, Marking One of Best Seasons for Tanners

Senior captain Julie Shea also leaves behind a new girls' career points record on the team.

The Shea sisters capped off one of the best seasons the swim team has had in seven years this past weekend at the Division I State Championships, according to mom and coach Maureen Shea.

Senior captain Julie Shea and sophomore Christine Shea -- Julie in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke and Christine joining her in the breaststroke.

Julie placed 14th in the 200 IM and 18th in the 100 breaststroke, while Christine was close behind in 20th.

Coach Shea said another highlight of the season is that Julie Shea also leaves behind a new girls' career team record of 694 points (Julie scored her last three at the state meet at Harvard University).

The previous team record for Peabody girls was 582 career points set in 2011 by Brittany Atkinson.
