South Branch features Laura Minning in rotating art show

The South Branch of the Peabody Institute Library is continuing its support of local artists with a new showing of mixed-media paintings by artist Laura Minning. Eleven examples of her art are now on display in the library, located at 78 Lynn St. These paintings are all available for purchase, and will be on display for a limited time through the winter.

The South Branch is thrilled to feature another artist with ties to Massachusetts. This collection includes vibrant abstracts created by combining paint with candle wax, nail polish and crayons to a beautiful, three-dimensional effect. This show is an example of the Library’s commitment to supporting and partnering with the community.

Laura Minning is an award-winning artist and published poet. She began her creative career by writing poetry which has won the Editor’s Choice Award, the International Merritt of Poetry Award by the National Library of Poetry and the International Poet of the Year by Poetry.com. Her 85 paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States and part of proceeds from the sale of all of her work is donated to charity. As a person with low vision and blindness, Ms. Minning hopes to inspire other create people to never allow anything to hinder them from reaching for the stars and accomplishing their dreams.
