State Police Report More Road Closures on the North Shore, Including Peabody

Massachusetts State Police issued new reports of road closures just before 7 Tuesday night, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.

State police reported the following road closures in the region:

• Route 1 at Route 97 in Topsfield
• Route 1 Ipswich, north of the Topsfield line
• Route 133 Rowley between Interstate 95 and Route 1
• Route 16 eastbound and westbound in Chelsea at Route 1
• Middlesex Avenue near Wellington Circle in Medford
• Route 1 southbound to Route 62 in Danvers
• Route 1 southbound at Lake Street in Danvers

State police are also responding to reports of a possible sinkhole or large pothole on Route 128 at Route 114 in the Danvers/Peabody area, near the Northshore Mall.

Though the heavy rain in Northeast is expected to taper off to scattered showers by 8 Tuesday night, but street flooding will persist longer, according to the National Weather Service.
