Summer Concert Series Kicks into Overdrive

The fourth installment of the city's summer concert series features the band Overdrive on Sunday evening.

The fourth concert in this summer’s annual concert series on Sunday evening features another new entry to the program: Overdrive.

Overdrive brings a unique combination of funk, rhythm and blues and “cover” rock ’n roll to each performance. The eight-piece band features a four-member horn section, two trumpets, a sax and a trombone.

The band performs dance music from the past three decades, from “classic” horn bands such as Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears and the Average White Band, to other popular groups such as Huey Lewis and the News and a large selection of Motown and swing songs. Overdrive even adds some nostalgia with big band hits by artists such as Glenn Miller and Louie Prima.
