PMLP Announces First Commercial Solar Installation in Peabody

Delande Supply Company Inc. on Pulaski Street has installed the first commercial rooftop solar system in Peabody.Delande is a wholesale distributor of electrical supplies and lighting fixtures.

The 65-kilowatt solar system was designed and installed by Allain & Son Inc., a Danvers-based
industrial electrical contractor. The solar installation will allow Delande to generate approximately 65 percent of their energy needs, according to David Delande,, CEO of Delande Supply Co.

.Delande noted that since its start of operation in June, the solar array has generated over 30 million watts of power and has a carbon offset of over 30 metric tons (Source: Aurora PowerOne & MassCEC).

Peabody Municipal Light Plant officials congratulated Delande on their continued efforts on sustainability and conservation.
