Sept. 25

  • 9:01 a.m. A caller on Central Street reported someone struck his wall overnight. After inspecting the damage, it appeared the wall wasn't struck, but someone tried to dismantle it, police said.

  • 9:14 a.m. A caller reported suspicious activity at the corner of Reed Street and Joy Road. A youth wearing baggy pants appeared to be selling something from the back of his car, the person said. Police said the juvenile in question had left before officers arrived. He was described as wearing a Celtics shirt, a white long-sleeved shirt and carrying a black bag or pack. Police said he may be part of a group suspected in some recent break-ins in the neighborhood.
  • 2 p.m. A caller on Harrison Avenue reported her neighbor allows her dog to use the caller's yard as a "toilet" and doesn't clean up afterward. She said there was now a second dog living at the neighbor's residence. A notice of complaint was mailed to the neighbor.
  • 10:31 p.m. David W. Goodrich, 53, of 32 Princeton St., Somerville, and Elizabeth M. Wiley, 41, of 386 Lowell St. #F2/U6, Peabody, were both arrested on separate warrants, following a report of an intoxicated person at the 7-Eleven at 79 Lowell St. A female reported that she was with a male whom she believed was unable to drive. Wiley was charged on an outstanding warrant from Peabody District Court for receiving stolen property while Goodrich was charged on a warrant from Somerville District Court for trespassing.

Sept. 27

  • 12:03 a.m. A 50-year-old Peabody man reported he was assaulted while playing hockey at the McVann-O'Keefe Skating Rink. He was advised to take court action if he wished to pursue the matter. He had police photograph his injury, but declined any medical attention.
  • 9:26 p.m. A male caller reported someone stole two face masks and a pair of gloves from his saddlebags that were attached to his vehicle parked at the mall.
  • 10:32 p.m. A caller reported she was driving on Northshore Road when she and her car were hit by someone tossing eggs from another vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark Jeep Liberty heading toward Lowell Street.

  • 2:02 a.m. Police received a report of a taxi driver who was stabbed during a robbery on Harris Street. See related story.
  • 5:56 p.m. A caller reported two youths were tossing a football across Main Street near the Knights of Columbus hall. Police were unable to find any youths in the area.
  • 9:01 p.m. David W. Goodrich, 53, of 32 Princeton St., Somerville, was arrested on a warrant and for defrauding an innkeeper. Staff at Joe's American Bar & Grill reported a male customer left without paying his $81 bill, but they were able to get the man to come back to the restaurant. The only problem was that he had no money with which to pay. The warrant was out of Somerville District Court.
