Tanners Shut Out by Danvers Icemen [PHOTOS]

Peabody junior goalie Powers stops nearly everything that comes his way.

February thus far has not been kind to the Tanners on the ice. The Peabody boys won their initial contest with Salem, but then dropped four straight to Beverly, Gloucester, Winthrop and now Danvers (5-0).

The high point of Wednesday's home game with the first-place Falcons was junior goalie Joe Powers stopping 34 of 36 shots fired at his net. He was relieved eventually by freshman Steve Ferrante who made four saves.

With yet another loss, Peabody now needs seven out of a possible eight points in its last four games to qualify for tournament play.
