Tanners’ Vittini Plays All-Star Game, Fenwick’s Steeves Coaches
Peabody High grad and NEC MVP Ramses Vittini takes the outfield again for the annual North-South All-Star game while Bishop Fenwick's Russ Steeves shares coaching honors for the North team.
The best of the best in Massachusetts high school baseball will hit the diamond Tuesday night at Fraser Field in Lynn for the 34th annual North-South All-Star game. Among those on the roster for the North side is Peabody’s Ramses Vittini. Bishop Fenwick’s Russ Steeves also shares coaching honors for the North team.
Vittini, an outfielder, shared Most Valuable Player honors in the Northeast Conference with Danvers’ Nick Gikas this year to close out his high school career. The Tanners, led by Vittini and his fellow captains, advanced to the quarterfinal round of the North Division I tournament this spring, . Vittini also ran track for the Tanners.
Steeves, a 1985 graduate of Bishop Fenwick, took over the helm of the baseball program in 2007. Steeves saw his squad advance to the semi-final round of North Division II play this year, at Fraser Field.

The all-star game gets underway at 6 p.m. You can find the rest of both teams’ rosters here. Sixteen players will then be chosen to play in the New England High School All-Star tournament on June 25 at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H.
