Ward 1 Primary For City Council Seat This Tuesday
Top two vote-getters move on to the Nov. 3 general election ballot.

There will be no city-wide primary for the Peabody municipal election this year, but there will be a primary on Tuesday, Sept. 29 for Ward 1 voters.
Three candidates are squaring off for the Ward 1 (primarily South Peabody) City Council seat in an effort to succeed longtime Councilor Barry Osborne.
The candidates are Jon G. Turco, Anne V. Quinn, and Brian P. Barrett.

Polls are open for the primary on Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Precincts one and three vote at St. Ann’s Church and precinct 2 votes at the Aviv Centers for Living at Woodbridge.
The two top vote-getters in the primary will make it onto the Nov. 3 general election ballot.

On the general election ballot, incumbent Mayor Ted Bettencourt is running unopposed for a third term.
However, there will be contested races for School Committee and Ward 4 Councilor in addition to the Ward 1 Council race.
