Local Moose Members Attend New England Conference

Members of Plymouth Moose Lodge #2485 attended the New England Mid-Year Conference of the Loyal Order of Moose April 12-15 in Framingham, MA.  Adminstrator Fran Kuhn, Governor Ray Manning, and members Matt Thomas Fred Sanford, Skip Lougee and Mike DeSimone represented the Plymouth Lodge.  Senior Past Regent Irene Thomas and 17 other Women of the Moose members represented the Plymouth Chapter.

Moose lodges representing the MA/RI State Moose Association, the Northeast State Moose Association (which includes ME, NH and VT) and the Connecticut Moose Association came together for this event; nearly 500 men and women members of the Moose fraternity came together for a time of networking, meetings, education and training.

Members of the Plymouth Lodge donated over $2,500 to various charities during the three day convention.  The bulk of the Plymouth Lodge's donations were to Mooseheart and Moosehaven.  The Mooseheart Child City and School, founded in 1913, is a 1,000 acre community and educational facility in Chicago's far-west suburbs, built and operated for children and teens in need of a stable home.  Moosehaven is a 70-acre retirement community south of Jacksonville, FL, owned and operated by the Moose fraternity for its retired members and their spouses.  Donations were also made to Special Olympics, Safe Surfin (http://safesurfin.org/ is an organization dedicated to protecting children, teens and even adults from internet predators), and the Boy Scouts of America.

The Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal and service organization of men and women dedicated to caring for the young and old, bringing communities closer together and celebrating life.  The Plymouth Moose Lodge #2485, founded in 1997, has over 560 members, and the Women of the Moose Plymouth Chapter #2218 has over 250 members.  To find out more about the Moose fraternity, call 508-224-2276 or visit www.plymouthmooselodge.org
