At Least It's Not Snowing: Boxing Day Blizzard, One Year Later

Today marks one year since the so-called Boxing Day Blizzard.

The December 2010 North American blizzard was the first significant winter storm of the very cold and snowy 2010-11 winter season bringing high winds, white-out conditions.

The storm also tore huge holes in the parking lot at , and clogged the mouth of the Eel River with gravel, which had to be removed by cleanup crews.

Taylor Avenue along White Horse Beach was closed during the storm's crescendo. Seawater poured across the bridge over Bartlett Brook and some residents had to deal with flooding. Nameloc Heights suffered from significant erosion.
