Fatal Plymouth Crash: 2 Killed

PLYMOUTH, MA — Two women were killed in Plymouth Wednesday night after police said their Jeep rolled over and crashed on Route 44. The women were identified as Kristina McCarthy, 26, of Kingston, and Montana Hurley, 20, of Bourne. Hurley was pronounced dead at the scene; McCarthy was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth and pronounced dead a few hours later. Speed is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash, state police said.

The women were in 2001 Jeep Wrangler driving on Cherry Street to Route 44 eastbound Wednesday at about 10:30 p.m. when the driver lost control, police said. The vehicle traveled over the median and flipped over in a grassy area near a ramp, police said. It was unclear which woman was driving.

Police said they are also investigating if the women were wearing seat belts. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
