Crazy Bus Route Start Times

First Student School buses picking up Plymouth students at 6:02am

As I was reading the bus routes for Bus #58 for South High School this morning, I noticed that there are lots of different start times. For example, a bus for Rising Tide starts at 6:02 in Chiltonville, one for South High starts at 6:04 on Ship Pond Road. Now I understand that as High School students have to be in by 7 this year and Ship Pond Road is like driving through the middle of a forest especially when the time change day comes in November or those dark mornings that I wait for my bus in the dark before sunrise. I can't even imagine what those 2 bus drivers were saying when they got that run, driving the bus at 5:45 in the morning just to pick up kids. I know these drivers also do an Aggie Run, but thats to meet another bus in another town.

Most parents that have children who attend Rising Tide might agree with me that 6:02 a.m. is way to early for fifth grade student to go to school, going from getting on the bus at 8:45 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Now I also noticed that some Elementary School students will be getting on the bus at 7:45 a.m. such as Indian Brook or South ES. I moved to Plymouth in August of 3rd Grade ('04-'05) and I had to go to school in August was a big change for me. I was used to going in September when I lived in Weymouth, not August. So when fourth grade came, my parents were looking at sending me to the Charter School. I got accepted via lottery and in mid-August, they found out I would be getting on the bus at 6:40 a.m. My parents immediately took me out and put me right into PSMS.

I disagree with these school bus start times and never thought the school start times would affect the routes this much.
