Bristol DA Sam Sutter to Announce Run for Congress Monday in Plymouth

Bristol District Attorney Sam Sutter will be in Plymouth Monday to formally announce his run for the new ninth District.

Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter, D-Fall River, is officially announcing his candidacy for the newly formed 9th Congressional District Monday at several spots across the South Shore, Cape, and South Coast.

Sutter will be in Plymouth at 2 p.m. at to discuss his campaign.

Sutter is running against Congressman Bill Keating, D-Quincy, who currently represents the 10th Congressional District.

The districts were re-formed at the end of last year after the results of the U.S. Census were announced.

THe 9th District will represent Southeastern Massachusetts from Norwell to Plymouth, west to Westport and parts of Fall River, all of Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

Both Keating and Sutter will have to move into the district in order to run. The Congressional Primary is Sept. 6.
