Cannonballs and Cranberries Program at Myles Standish State Forest

The state forest hosts a walk around the Rocky Pond Cranberry Bogs from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5.

Come along for a walk around the Rocky Pond Cranberry Bogs from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5. We will discuss and explore the history of the park, focusing on the use of the bogs. You’ll learn about glaciation, kettle ponds, bog iron, Federal Furnace, cranberry agriculture, and the area’s wildlife. Meet at the Rocky Pond Cranberry Bog parking lot on Bare Hill Road (on the way to Curlew Pond from Headquarters). Dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes.
