Take a step back in time to the
1940’s this weekend as you celebrate the Holiday Season! On Saturday, December
7th and Sunday, December 8th from 1-7PM, the Mayflower
Society House, 4 Winslow Street, Plymouth, will host a “Christmas 1943” Open
House to honor the 70th anniversary of this pivotal year in WWII. There
will be a special talk on Plymouth during the War on Sunday, December 8th
at 2 pm.
The Open House will feature WWII memorabilia
recognizing the sacrifices of our servicemen and women overseas, as well as on
the home front. During the War, the House was the Plymouth headquarters of the
American Red Cross. Visitors can hear stories of Plymouth during WWII from
local historian Bobbi Clark on Sunday, December 8th at 2pm.
All are welcome to tour the
Society House, and enjoy period music and light refreshments. This event is
