Celtic Bluegrass with Rick Mier and Kathleen Parks at the Blue Moon Coffeehouse, Rockland

On Saturday, January 25th, Rick Mier and Kathleen Parks bring Celtic bluegrass to the Blue Moon Coffeehouse in Rockland.  This is rescheduled show, snowed out in December.  Rick Mier is a San Franciscan banjoist who inspiration not only from bluegrass but also from the free improvisation and technical prowess of jazz and classical music. While attending Berklee College of Music he won the prestigious Lowell Banjo and Fiddle Contest in 2012.  Kathleen Parks is a wild Irish fiddler from Newburgh, New York. She started playing violin at the age of five and has gone on to play numersou shows, including festivals and cruise lines, with bands such as The John Whelan Band, The Jimmy Sturr Orchestra, The Lindsey Webster Band, and the Bobby Vinton Orchestra.  Kathleen is currently attending Berklee College of Music on full scholarship, studying songwriting and performance.  Between sets, there will be an open mic. Tickets are $7 at the door and children 12 and under are free.  The show starts at 7:30.  The address is Channing Unitarian Universalist Church, 45 Webster ST.
