Coastal Community Capital and Cape Cod Five to host FDIC workshops for small business owners

Learn skills to run your small businesses smarter, faster and more safely with the Money Smart for Small Business workshop series!

Wareham, MA: Coastal Community Capital will partner with the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank on a series of workshops beginning in February aimed at providing local business owners with useful skills to run their small businesses smarter, faster and more safely.

The workshops, “Money Smart for Small Business,” will be conducted at the Cape Cod Five Wareham banking center.

Experts from both the bank and from within the community will conduct eight workshops using a curriculum developed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Topics range from record keeping and tax planning to insurance and organizational types, such as corporations vs. limited liability companies.

“FDIC and SBA created “Money Smart for Small Business” to encourage partnerships between banks and key service providers,” said Timothy W. DeLessio, Community Affairs Officer with the FDIC’s Boston Area Office. “The curriculum is designed to help established, new, and aspiring entrepreneurs build a basic-but-solid foundation to successfully organize and manage a business.”

The cost for the entire 8-workshop series is $50, and space is limited. To register and for more information, visit www.CoastalCommunityCapital.org or call 508-362-3755. The workshops will be held Thursdays starting February 26 through April 16, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Cape Cod Five Wareham branch, located at 10 Rosebrook Place.
