Coastal Community Capital Awarded Small Business Assistance Grant

Nonprofit Massachusetts lender awarded grant to support its mission of funding small businesses and creating jobs in the Commonwealth

Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) has awarded Centerville-based Coastal Community Capital a Small Businesses Assistance Grant to support its mission of funding small businesses and creating jobs in the Commonwealth.

The purpose of the MGCC’s grant program is to expand economic and entrepreneurial opportunity in the state of Massachusetts. The program is designed to complement and enhance the traditional public and private small business assistance network by providing technical assistance or training programs for underserved and disadvantaged businesses with 20 employees or fewer.

“Mass Growth Capital Corporation is proud once again to provide support for Coastal Community Capital’s small business lending and assistance programs,” said Lawrence D. Andrews, President and CEO of MGCC. “This grant will allow the agency to continue to offer its excellent individualized loan assistance, mentoring and financial training to small businesses on Cape Cod and in Southern Massachusetts.”

Grants totaling $1.58 million were awarded to 25 organizations across the state. A complete list of recipients, can be found online at massgcc.com/grant-awards.

The mission of the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation is to create and preserve jobs at small businesses, women and minority owned businesses, and to promote economic development in underserved, gateway municipalities and low and moderate income communities.

A non-profit community development lender, Coastal Community Capital provides capital statewide. Coastal has access to an array of funding sources, including SBA 504 and 7A loans, loan guarantees, and direct lending.
