Stabbed 30+ Times: Quincy College Professor Murdered in Plymouth
Quincy College Professor Vibeke Rasmussen, 76, was stabbed to death by Tyler Hagmaier, 24, authorities said.

PLYMOUTH, MA — A Quincy College professor was stabbed to death Thursday night and the suspect is on the loose, authorities said.
Vibeke Rasmussen, 76, was stabbed over 30 times by Tyler Hagmaier, 24, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz.

The crime "was not random," Cruz said.
The murder happened in Rasmussen's Tide View Path apartment Thursday night.

Hagmaier's silver Prius was found in western Massachusetts Friday night; witnesses said he may have jumped into the Connecticut River. Authorities searched the river but found nothing Saturday. The search will continue Sunday.
Hagmaier is from western Massachusetts, Cruz said.

Rasmussen's body was discovered by police Friday when they conducted a well-being check at her apartment after she failed to show up at the college. Officers encountered a gruesome scene, finding Rasmussen with "obvious trauma," Cruz said.
Neighbors said they heard screams from Rasmussen's apartment the night she died, according to Cruz.
