Contents of Paul Revere Time Capsule Revealed

The capsule, which dates back to 1795, was discovered last month in the Massachusetts State House as crews repaired a water leak.

An incredible piece of Boston history was unveiled Tuesday.

Officials opened a time capsule that was discovered last month in a cornerstone of theMassachusetts State House as crews repaired a water leak. The capsule was planted by Paul Revere and Samuel Adams.

WHDH reported it contained papers, 24 coins, a silver plaque, and a seal of the Commonwealth. The contents were unveiled at the Museum of Fine Arts.

In October, another time capsule was discovered in a lion statue atop Boston’s Old State House. This time capsule contained newspapers and campaign buttons, among other items.
