Create an Office Bake Sale for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Bakes for Breast Cancer is launching a new campaign for October, breast cancer awareness month, that will satisfy your sweet tooth! We are asking workmates and colleagues to bring baked goods or sweets to work and sell them throughout the entire month of October. Who doesn’t love a snack during the work day? Start an Office Bake Sale today!

Participants log on to www.bakesforbreastcancer.org, download the office calendar to place in the office kitchen or break room. Work mates select a day on the calendar to bring in a baked good and place a donation jar next to the baked treats. Then the participating office can take a group “selfie” and post it on their Facebook page with “#officebakesale” and challenge friends to participate during the month of October. We’ll repost to spread the word about your great company’s commitment to the fight against breast cancer!

“By selling a few cookies or cupcakes in your office, whether homemade or purchased, you’ll be contributing to the cause, one sweet at a time!” said Carol Sneider, founder and president of Bakes for Breast Cancer.

Breast cancer affects one in eight women. Last year 230,000 women (in the U.S.) were diagnosed with breast cancer. The disease took the life of almost 40,000 women last year.

With each of us adding to the recipe as a separate ingredient, we can help find a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime! Celebrate breast cancer awareness month in your office - challenge other offices to participate as well to see who can raise the most money and eat the most sweets!

Our Story:

Fifteen years ago a simple fundraiser was started in Massachusetts called, Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer. During the week of Mother’s Day, restaurants, bakeries and cafes, sold one dessert for one week and donated the proceeds to the fight against breast cancer.

Since that first fundraiser in 1999, our organization has raised almost $1,000,000 for breast cancer research and care.

Today, Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit, continues to grow and expand its scope of dessert-oriented events. We have a Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer week, a Rhode Island Bakes for Breast Cancer week, and now, the event for anytime of the year, the Bakes for Breast Cancer Bake Sale! This event allows the non-professional baker to help raise money for breast cancer research and care while satisfying sweet teeth around them.
