Curtis Construction Company Announces Completion of South Shore Community Action Council Project

Non-Profit's New Home Ready to Provide Fuel Assistance and Food Distribution for Thanksgiving

Curtis Construction Company, Inc. of Stoughton announces the completion of their latest project, a new $3.8 million, 3-story, 15,000 square foot office building located at 71R Obery Street in Plymouth, MA. The new building will serve as the new home for the South Shore Community Action Council Inc. (SSCAC). The project was performed under a Design-Build contract with Curtis Construction Company serving as the builder with architectural design services provided by JACA Architects of Quincy. The SSCAC is a non-profit organization that has been providing critical social services including Family Development, Income, Nutrition, Emergency, Energy, Employment and Transportation Assistance to low-income families located throughout the South Shore since 1965. The new facility at 71R Obery Street successfully consolidates several of the SSCAC’s service providers into one central location. Curtis Construction Company was able to complete the project within an accelerated schedule in order to meet the forthcoming fuel assistance heating season and the launch of the food distribution warehouse in time for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Funding for the project was provided by Harbor One Bank and the United States Department of Agriculture.
