Dr. Lara K. Butler Joins Dermatology Practice At South Shore Skin Center

Board Certified Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon Dr. Lara K. Butler has joined the dermatology practice at South Shore Skin Center & Medical Spa. Harvard-trained, Dr. Butler also specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.

SSSC partners Drs. Eisen, Saad and Bouzari are proud to welcome Dr. Butler to the practice. Dr. Butler sees patients at the center’s two locations, One Scobee Circle in Plymouth and 75 Washington Street on Route 53 in Norwell.

Dr. Butler studied at St. Matthew’s University and completed a fellowship in cutaneous oncology, Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgery with the Harvard Medical School, Department of Dermatology at Lahey Medical Center. In addition to working as a researcher at the Johns Hopkins and Mount Sinai Hospitals, she has been published extensively in leading medical journals on topics ranging from cosmetic surgery innovations to skin cancer and scar revision surgery.

She currently maintains a teaching schedule at the Harvard Medical School, Department of Dermatology, lecturing on complex reconstruction techniques following Mohs surgery. A diplomate of the American Academy of Dermatology, she is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery and American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Dr. Butler was born and raised in London, Ontario, where her mother is a general practitioner.In her free time, she and her husband (a veterinarian) enjoy cooking and international travel.Their family includes two dogs -- a Redbone Coonhound rescue dog and a Chocolate Lab.
