2011 Monster Dash 5 Mile Road Race / 2 Mile Fun Walk To benefit the Plymouth High School Lacrosse Programs

On Sunday, October 30, 2011, the Plymouth High School Lacrosse Fundraising Committee is sponsoring the 2011 Monster Dash. This 5 mile road race/2 mile fun walk is being held to raise money for the Plymouth High School Lacrosse Programs. This will be the first year that the lacrosse community is hosting this event.

The Plymouth High School Lacrosse programs have been in the schools for more than a decade and are completely self-funded. Every year the parents, through the Fundraising Committee, needs to raise approximately $35,000 (after user fees) in order for the program to survive. Each high school fields four teams, varsity boys and girls, and junior varsity boys and girls for a total of eight teams. More than 150 student-athletes participate.

The support of local businesses and individuals will combine to make this year’s event a success. The post-race celebration will be a fun-filled, family event, with prizes, music, and food from Moe’s Southwest Grille and Stonyfield Yogurt and beverages from Ocean Spray and Nestles. Individual runners will be eligible for great prizes to be awarded at the post-race festivities. We are encouraging race participants off all ages to dress in costume.
