β€œI invite the public to visit our greenhouse and Petting Zoo every day but this year’s farm anniversary celebration offers a great opportunity for a fun day for the family and an opportunity to pick out some nice flowers for mom just in time for Mother’s Day.” Sheriff Joseph D. The farm stand and greenhouses have over 75,000 plants, potted flowers and herbs ready and available for your garden or patio. If you are looking for the perfect basil for your pesto, mint leaves for a mojito or rosemary for your chicken dish look no further; The Plymouth County FarmΒ has introduced the new β€œEdible Collection” featuring flavorful herbs and an accompanying recipe. Another great addition to the inventory are β€œpatio” plants which are miniature in size providing those with limited space the opportunity to still enjoy fresh produce, herbs or flowers all season, according to Farm Director Ted DeCristofaro. The farm staff, made of six corrections officers who are also trained horticulturalists, are available to help area gardeners with tips on what varieties would work best for their specific needs. All plant sale proceeds fund inmate rehabilitative programs at the Plymouth County Correctional Facility. The horticultural center is open forΒ business seven days a week, from 8 am to 4 pm during the growing season.
