Ernest Hemmingway Alive!

Friday, April 15, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., you are invited to spend an afternoon with one of America’s most beloved writers and larger-than-life figures, Ernest Hemingway, portrayed by professional actor Richard Clark. Sponsored by the Plymouth Public Library’s Senior Services department, Ernest Hemingway Alive will take place in the Otto Fehlow Meeting Room of the main library, 132 South St., Plymouth.

In this dramatic one-person play, Clark brings Hemingway’s full persona to life – his literary genius as well as his exploits in battle, bullfighting and booze that often shocked society and challenged the ivory tower notions of his writing life. Clark’s portrayal reveals Hemingway’s depth and passion as he reflects on the tumultuous years of the mid-20th century through the writer’s eyes.

Richard Clark is an actor with over thirty years’ experience in New England regional theater, New York theater and television. His ‘Keeping History Alive’ series brings historical figures such as Mark Twain, Andrew Carnegie, and William Shakespeare back to life.
