Jane Austen Tea at the Hedge House

The Plymouth Antiquarian Society cordially invites you to immerse yourself in Jane Austen's world and partake of a sumptuous English tea from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7.

Enjoy a special themed tour of the 1809 Hedge House located at 126 Water Street on Plymouth's scenic waterfront. Elegantly costumed guides tell about the customs and social milieu of Regency England as described in Austen's novels, and provide insights on the comparative experiences of provincial Americans. Before or after your tour, visit our tea rooms for tea and tasty treats and test your knowledge of all things Austen with a lighthearted quiz. A selection of refreshments will be prepared from authentic 19th century Plymouth recipes in the Society’s collection. This event is a delightful way for mothers and daughters to make this a Mothers Day weekend to remember.

Fee: $15, $12 for Plymouth Antiquarian Society members. Reservations are recommended; to reserve tickets, please visit www.plymouthantiquariansociety.org for details, or contact the Society at pasm@verizon.net or (508) 746-0012.
