Learning About Lincoln at Antiquarian Society Pot Luck Supper

Spring is here and it's time for a delicious taste of history at the Plymouth Antiquarian Society's annual Potluck gathering for members and friends Tuesday, April 3. Dr. Thomas Turner, distinguished author and Lincoln scholar, will speak on Abraham Lincoln's New England connections. Not all areas of the country can claim direct links to our 16th president, but Massachusetts has several interesting ties to the Kentucky-born Lincoln. Dr. Turner will explore these connections including Lincoln's ancestral ties to the South Shore, his 1848 Massachusetts visit to campaign for Zachary Taylor, familial connections at Harvard University, and his interest in Plymouth's Forefather's Monument. 

The supper and program will be held at Kendall Hall, First Parish Church, Town Square, Plymouth, MA. Social hour begins at 5:30 pm, supper at 6 pm and lecture at 7 pm. Fee: $8, $5 for Society members. Reservations are required, email pasm@verizon.net or call 508-746-0012.
