Persephone's Daughters: "Singing for Change"

The Plymouth based Women’s A cappella Chorus, Persephone’s Daughters, directed by Lynne Wilkinson will perform, “SINGING FOR CHANGE” at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, Top of Town Square, Plymouth, on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 3:00PM.

Please join Persephone’s Daughters as it explores the role that music has played in bringing about social change in this country over the last 50 years. Hear powerful readings and songs from the Peace and Civil Rights Movements of the 60’s and from the Gay Rights and Women’s Rights Movements that followed. Each fall the proceeds of Persephone’s Daughters concerts go to organizations voted on by its membership that foster healing, world peace and social justice. Each spring the proceeds go to First Parish Unitarian Universalist church in exchange for rehearsal and concert space throughout the year.
