Β A Wedding in Plimoth Colony
Prince William and Catherine Middleton are not the only English couple being celebrated at Plimoth Plantation in 2011. This summer, Plimoth Plantationβs award-winning Colonial Interpretation Department will recreate the 1627 wedding of Experience Mitchell and Jane Cooke. The young, Pilgrim-couple have been βcourtingβ in the 17th Century English Village since last autumn and Saturday, July 23, the Museum will present the re-created wedding that took place in Plimoth Colony close to 400 years ago. The public is invited to be a guest at the 2:00 p.m., ceremony in the English Village, followed by the post-ceremonial merriment. There will surely be song and dance, riddles, and 17th-century games to join in.Β This wedding is a family-friendly event for people of all ages to enjoy, free with Museum admission.Β
