Plymouth Public Library Celebrates National Library Week

Celebrate National Library Week and create your own story at the Plymouth Public Library and Manomet Branch April 11-16, 2011. Libraries are places for new beginnings. Whether you are getting your first library card, learning new computer skills, joining us for a cultural program, or picking up some reading or listening material, the Plymouth Public Library is the place where your story begins. This is a perfect time to visit the library and learn more about library programs and services. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April. It is an occasion to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians, library workers, and especially library patrons.

The Plymouth Library would like to thank their patrons with National Library Week events. From April 11-16, the library will hold a fine amnesty week. The fines for all currently overdue library books, videos, DVD’s, and CD’s returned during this week will be waived.

Patron Appreciation Day will be held on Wednesday, April 13, from 10-2 p.m. in the Otto Fehlow Meeting Room and the Manomet Branch Library. Many library departments will be represented with displays highlighting library programs and services. Light refreshments will be served so come have a cup of joe and a piece o cake with library staff. Poke your head in to the Otto Fehlow Meeting Room and check us out!
